City Offices Alter Hours During Winter Holidays

Several City offices will be closed or have altered hours during the winter holidays.

The following offices will be closed starting Friday, December 19, 2014 through Friday, January 2, 2015:

  • City Hall (City Manager’s Office, Finance, Community Development and Sustainability, Public Works Administration)
  • Community Services Corporation Yard, 1818 Fifth Street
  • Fire Business Office, 530 Fifth Street
  • Veterans Memorial Center (Closed with the exception of private rentals)

Community Services Recreation Registration and Child Care Services at 600 A Street will be open December 22 and 23 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and closed December 24 through January 2.

The Senior Center located at 646 A Street will be closed beginning Monday, December 22 through Friday, January 2.  The Elderly Nutrition lunch program and Meals on Wheels is closed December 25 & 26 and January 1 & 2.

Emergency services will continue uninterrupted, and Davis Community Transit will continue regular operation. Public Works crews will also be available for basic operations.

The Police Department business office will maintain normal business hours of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, when the business office will be closed.

If you need information or to report a problem during this time, try out the City’s new citizen request system, GO Davis. It provides a 24/7 information and reporting for items such as a pothole that needs filling, graffiti that needs to be removed, street light outages, or water leaks. If you need to deliver a legal filing or document, or a Public Records request to the City, please deliver it to the Police Department at 2600 Fifth Street during business hours (see above). Public Records Act requests will be reviewed and responded to within 10 days of when City Hall reopens on January 5.

All City offices will resume normal business hours Monday, January 5, 2015.
